The course aims to provide & improve participant knowledge and skills in operating four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles on unsealed surfaces and offroad, identify and mitigate the risks associated with the activity, reduce vehicle running costs/ damage and be more aware of environmental issues.

• Participants will be made aware of issues and risks associated with operating 4WD vehicles, with emphasis given on operation in remote areas.

• Along with this is a deeper understanding on the 4WD system and its various functions and uses as deemed suitable for a particular situation.

• In the event of an unforeseen emergency, safe recovery techniques are also a part of this course.

• Participants will also take part in practical sessions in order to develop the necessary skills and technique to manoeuvre 4WD vehicles on unsealed roads and in offroad situations.
