This programme is designed to train designated personnel to handle helicopter emergency scenarios and to effect the rescue of crew and passengers in fire and non fire situations. Participants will be educated on helicopter operational hazards, emergency systems and controls, Helicopter Fire/Emergency Response arrangements as well as the role of the Helicopter Emergency Team Member. Participants will be educated on the relevant aspects of published guidelines in relation to helicopter emergencies as well as familiarity with emergency response procedures and alarms. Participants will also practice communication with personnel involved with emergency scenarios, such as HLO, the Fire Team and Air Traffic Control.
