COURSE OBJECTIVES

Hazmat Technician core course is specifically designed to bring student or participants from a knowledge base Awareness level and Operation level to Hazmat Technician Responder Level 111.

This course was designed for a duration of 3 days (24 hours), customization that will fully allow for more extensive coverage of any subject matter area as per below:

• Analyze the incident
• Collect and interpret hazard and response information
• Determine scope of the problem
• Predict the behavior of released materials and the containers
• Estimate the size of endangered area
• Plan the response
• Describe response objectives and option
• Select PPE for action options
• Select technical decontamination process
• Develop a site safety plan
• Implement the response
• Preform offensive control options
• Contaminated casualty management and handling
• Tactical response exercises

Course Aim:

Upon the successful completion of this course, participants will be having the required skill and knowledge for “Competencies for Hazardous Materials Technicians Responder according to NFPA 472, and they will be able to respond, analyze a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) incident to determine the magnitude of the incident.
