COURSE AIMS AND BENEFITS

- Recognize an emergency in any situation.
- Activate the appropriate emergency response system and follow the emergency action principles.
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of identified emergency, illnesses and injuries.
- Perform the necessary and correct method of CPR and AED to a casualty based on the emergencies, illnesses and injuries.
- Activated the appropriate care of unconscious and conscious casualty.
- Knowledgeable in using the Automated External Defibrillator.
- Ability to write an incidental report.

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Wash Hand.
- Administering Emergency Oxygen
- Oxygen Safety Precautions.
- Blood Oxygen Level SPO2
- Demonstrated Oxygen Equipment and Bag Valve Mask
Module 2 :
- Unresponsiveness:
- Unresponsive and Breathing Normally
- Recovery Position
- Demo on Recovery Position
- Practical on Recovery Position
- Chain of survival
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- The Principle of Resuscitation.
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation using DR-CAB
- CPR for Drowning victim
- Went to Stop CPR
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Consideration for safe effective AED use.
- Environmental Considerations.
- Heart Rate
- Unresponsive and Abnormal Breathing with suspected Opioid Overdose.
OUTCOMES
- Competent participant;
- Responded to at least two first aid scenarios contextualized to the candidate’s workplace/community setting.
- Applied immediate assistance provided to a sick or injured person until professional help arrives.
- Applied initial care, including psychosocial support for people suffering from emotional distress caused by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event:
- Preserve life
- Prevent further injury or illness
- Promote recovery
- Alleviate suffering
