This course is a combination of the four Basic Safety Training courses contained in the previously named STCW’95 training module, which consists of Elementary First Aid, Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting, Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities as well as Personal Survival Technique.
Throughout the course, participant will be educated and trained in the various aspects of safety and survival contained in the combined suite; all training will be in accordance with the STCW Code and the training is envisaged to provide the participant with necessary skills in order to survive in an emergency situation as well as to prevent and/or minimize such occurrences.
Personal Survival Techniques, 2 days (theory & practical)
To ensure participants gain the necessary knowledge, understanding and proficiency to maintain a state of readiness to respond to emergency situations and survive at sea in the event of ship abandonment
Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, 1 day (theory)
To ensure participants gain the necessary knowledge, understanding and proficiency to demonstrate competence in shipboard personal safety and to meet their individual social responsibilities
Elementary First Aid, 1 day (theory & practical)
To ensure participants gain the necessary knowledge, understanding and proficiency to take immediate action upon encountering an accident or other medical emergency.
Fire Prevention and Fire-Fighting – Basic Course, 2 days (theory & practical)
To ensure participants gain the necessary knowledge, understanding and proficiency to minimize the risk of fire and maintain a state of readiness to respond to emergency situations involving fire
