AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
The aim and objectives of the CAP Level II Competence Assessment are to establish that the delegate has the required underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills to fulfill the role of Competent Authorized Person effectively.
COMPETENCE ASSESSMENT:
The knowledge assessment comprises of a written theory test. The written test shall be a “closed book” and a pass mark of 80% must be attained.
The practical assessment requires the assessor to observe the delegates perform the following specified tasks to the required standard:
• Checking that lifting equipment are stored correctly
• Carrying out pre - use inspections of lifting appliances and lifting accessories and recording findings
• Checking that stored lifting equipment has valid certification
• Implementing a “T” card system for controlling the issue of lifting equipment
• Implementing proper quarantine procedures
