o The Banksman’s role during a free access lift, a restricted access lift, a single tubular lift, a bundled tubular lift, a lift with an offset center of gravity, a lift with a cargo carrying unit and a blind lift varying the use of hand signals and radio communications.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: Delegates attending the Stage 1 training must be given a series of explanations and demonstrations. At the end of the course delegates shall be given a theory questionnaire to assess their understanding of the knowledge elements specified in the learning outcomes.
The assessment is open book and a pass mark of 80% must be attained. Module 3 contains practical exercises in which the delegates must take an active part. Delegates’ performance in these practical exercises will be evaluated against the learning outcomes.
Note: The Lift Plans and risk assessments prepared by the training provider for this training module must be reviewed and approved by the Competent Person of the training provider (Certified Banksman & Slinger Level II and Lift Planner).
LOOGBOOK: AIM OF LOGBOOK The aim of this log book is for the Banksman & Slinger Level I delegate to complete a series of supervised workplace tasks in order to gain relevant experience. The delegate must complete a log book record of the supervised banksman & slinger tasks. Delegates that complete the Banksman & Slinger Level I log book requirements within 12 months of successful completion of Banksman & Slinger Level 1 Training shall be eligible to undertake the next stage of the programme which is the Banksman & Slinger Level II Competence Assessment.
Note: If the log book has not been fully completed within 12 months, the delegate shall NOT be entitled to undertake the Banksman & Slinger Level II Competence Assessment, plus he / she must re - attend the Banksman & Slinger Level 1 Training module.
LOGBOOK REQUIREMENTS The Banksman & Slinger Level I work place experience log book shall be issued to the Banksman & Slinger Level I delegate by the Training Provider when he / she successfully completes Banksman & Slinger Level 1 Training module. The delegate must ensure that all the allocated activities are recorded in the log book and appropriate signatures are obtained. Signatories The delegate must ensure that after completing each banksman & slinger activity he / she obtains the signature of a competent banksman & slinger (i.e.) Level II certified.
The competent person directly supervising the delegate must be satisfied that each of the allocated activities specified in the log book has been completed in a safe manner before signing the log book. Note: Completion of the log book does not imply that the delegate is competent to carry out banksman & slinger activities unsupervised (i.e.) the delegate must successfully complete the next stage which is Banksman & Slinger Level II Competence Assessment
