This course aims to prepare learners for employment in a food business, or to support a current position where there is an element of food handling. This could include waiting staff, health care workers, kitchen porters and stock room staff.
Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, processing, packing and handling of food.
COURSE OUTCOME:
On completion of the course, participants will:
• Understand personal responsibility to food safety by learning aspects of:
a. Food safety;
b. Personal hygiene; &
c. Legal responsibilities of food handlers in the catering environment.
• Learn how to implement Highfield International practices by:
a. Keeping food handlers and work areas clean and hygienic;
b. Keeping food products safe; &
c. Reporting food safety hazards to supervisors
