The course is to provide candidates with the necessary skills to progress towards competence for the safe erection, alteration and dismantling of intermediate scaffolds structures.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
On completion of the course, participants will have the knowledge of:
• The correct and safe methods of erecting, altering and dismantling independent scaffolds incorporating prefabricated beams, loading bays, splays, protection fans and cantilever sections.
• Determining the material requirements for independent scaffolds incorporating prefabricated beams, loading bays, splays/radials, protection fans and cantilever sections.
• Laying out materials, interpreting simple drawings, setting out the scaffolds and overcoming obstacles to erect the scaffold safely.
• Constructing scaffolds following safe system of work.
The participants should also be able to correctly and safely:
• Protections fans and Cantilever sections of scaffolds
• Bridging Scaffolds with prefabricated beams
• Loading bays
• Roof edge protections
• Fixing of ties
• Radial Scaffolds
• A refresher and review of basic level health and safety
