Managers are required to make work site visits in order to demonstrate leadership and commitment for HSE issues.
Too often these visits are not productive due to the inability of the manager to efficiently engage and communicate with site supervisors and the workforce. Strategies to ensure effective engagement and communication are disconnected before a visit to a simulated worksite for a dialogue with role playing supervisors and workers.
A debriefing is held after the visit with the objective of ensuring future visits will be constructive and actively support a positive safety culture.
