How much time do I need to dedicate to my studies?
NEBOSH recommend the following amount of study be given to the IGC:
• Taught (classroom) hours: 65
• Private study: 40 (this will typically be made up of tutor set homework and self-guided study)
• Total hours: 105 plus time devoted to assessments.
Experience has shown that students devoting this amount of time to their studies are more likely to have a successful outcome.
How will I be assessed?
There are two assessments for this qualification:
• IG1 is assessed by an online Open Book Examination (OBE). This will be sat at a pre-determined date following the course.
• IG2 is assessed by a ‘practical’ submission based on a real workplace. This is carried out after the course.
Full details of the assessments will be given during the course with time put aside to fully brief students on the requirements of both assessments.
