The course provides underpinning knowledge of the Hazards and Effects Management Process (HEMP) COURSE OUTCOMES On completion of the course, participants will be able to: • Describe a hazard • Demonstrate how hazards are identified and assessed • Cite examples of Unsafe Conditions and Unsafe Acts • Describe the 4 stages of HEMP • Provide a definition of risk • Discuss how risk is assessed and use of the Risk Assessment Matrix • Provide a hierarchy of control measures • Understand the objectives of Toolbox Talks • Spot the hazards • Practically apply application of HEMP for typical work activities
