WHO’S THE COURSE FOR?
It applies to all especially all Staff Workplace Environment settings within industries.
COURSE AIMS AND BENEFITS
The aims of this Course are to;
- Recognize an emergency in any situation.
- Activate the appropriate emergency response system and follow the emergency action principles.
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of identified injuries, medical emergency and illness.
- Perform the necessary and correct first aid treatment to a casualty based on the injuries and illnesses.
- Able to assistance administering oxygen using appropriate oxygen equipment (where required).
- Understand and knowledgeable on first aid treatment priority.
- Ability to write an incidental report.
COURSE CONTENT MODULES:
Module 1: General Approach
Module 2: Unresponsiveness
Module 3: Breathing Problems
Module 4: Trauma
OUTCOMES
- Competent participant;
- Followed general approach in line with IFRC-BRC guidelines.
- Responded to at least two first aid scenarios contextualized to the candidate’s workplace/community setting.
- Applied immediate assistance provided to a sick or injured person until professional help arrives.
- Applied initial care, including psychosocial support for people suffering from emotional distress caused by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event:
- Preserve life
- Prevent further injury or illness
- Promote recovery
- Alleviate suffering
TRAINING METHODS:
Practical and Theory sessions, & group classroom activity/discussion.
METHOD OF ASSESSMENT:
Practical and written test.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
