COURSE CONTENT:

• The purpose of Breathing Apparatus.

• Know the main types of Breathing Apparatus in use and their component parts.

• The Operation, donning and checks of working duration breathing apparatus.

• Know the different/comparison between Self Contained Breathing Apparatus & Trolley Based Breathing Apparatus Airline unit.

• Air supply definitions.

• Calculating cylinder Durations.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

The objectives of the Breathing Apparatus Wearer are the participant will be able to perform:

• Pre-and-Post checks on Breathing Apparatus

• Identify the personal and respiratory protective equipment to be worn.

• Check and use Breathing Apparatus.

• Don and use of full SCBA & TBBA.

• Donning & operating (including checks) an escape breathing apparatus (EBA) with a mask and hood.

• Using a Trolley Based Breathing Apparatus Airline unit with an activated EBA.
