AIMS & COURSE ELEMENTS:
This competency-based course provides you with the fundamentals to perform the duties as a fire-fighter and the techniques to deal with hydrocarbons and petrochemical incidents and accidents in accordance to NFPA 1081 standard. It will also cover building and other infrastructure incidents that may occur at any industrial facilities.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
• Perform the basic duties of a fire-fighter
• Demonstrate basic understanding of fire-fighting subjects
• Demonstrate basic understanding of rescue and fire-fighting and the use of fire-fighting equipment
• Understand the concepts, principles and practical aspects of fire-fighting.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
This course specifically designed for those aspiring to be a fire-fighter and personnel who newly joined the fire services, plant operator, First Intervention Team, Jetty Terminal Operator, municipal fire brigades and industrial / oil and gas fire-fighting services.

a. BA operations using Entry Control Board during rescue operations;
b. Structural Fire Fighting;
c. Pressure fed fire-fighting, LPG, Bulk Fuel storage and 3 dimensional fire-fighting;
d. Fire Development training;
e. CFBT training;
f. HAZMAT awareness training; &
g. Storage Tank fire-fighting
COURSE CONTENT:
1) FIREMANSHIP FUNDAMENTALS:
• Fire Physics and Chemistry
• Delivery and suction hoses
• Handling of hoses, nozzles management and patterns management.
• Application of extinguishing agents / Pump and Primers
• Casualty handling / Extinguishing medias
• Smoke hazard and smoke attraction
• Fire vehicle operating system (Subject if client can provide their vehicle for training)
• Fire ground hydraulic
• Shuffle steps technique, Attack formation and fire ground command
• Master Stream application
• Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS)
• Introduction to Emergency Response Guide (ERG)
2) STRUCTURAL, BREATHING APPARATUS OPERATIONS AND HAZARDOUS MATERIAL OPERATIONS:
• BA operation and entry control board
• Search and rescue – Working in confined spaces
• Fire-fighting operations – Building fire and hydrocarbon fires
• Working in heat and humidity
• Rescue and fire-fighting personnel safety
• Dangerous goods – Approach to hazardous materials incident
• Fire Development training
• Application of Ventilation techniques
