To equip the delegates with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills may be involved in combating fire arising from liquid hydrocarbons, liquefied gas or inflammable chemical products. On completion of the course, the delegates should acquire more in-depth knowledge on: Aims & Course Elements • Hazardous products – overview • The classification of hazardous products • The characteristics of hazardous products including Radiological hazards, Fire and Explosion Hazards, etc • Fuel installation fire including Boil-Over and BLEVE • Fuel farm firefighting – Techniques, tactics and strategies • Fuel farms facilities and fire protection system • Foam applications • The use of self-contained breathing apparatus set • Explosimeters: LEL/UEL • Personnel protective equipment, scene safety and scene control Practice • Familiarisation of portable firefighting equipment • Familiarisation of B.A equipment test, inspection, donning and B.A control board tally procedures • Casualty handling incorporating with stretchers • Fires on pallet loads • Hazardous chemical handling incidents • Fires on floating roof tank • A high pressure gas line ruptures causing a leakage. The gas ignites causing LPG pressure fire and liquefied gas spill on the pit • A fuel leak has developed into a liquid fire has pool in one area • Traversing through a smoke chamber and structure • A high pressure has line (Flange) ruptures causing a leakage. The gas cloud spread causing vessel LPG pressure fire and produce toxic gas.
