COURSE CODE: CIEH-LV1
This course is a great way to introduce beginners to the food business by the safe preparation and cooking of food. This could include anyone new to food safety, new employees in low-risk environments or anyone with an interest in safe food preparation at home.
Learners gaining this qualification will learn that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the delivery, storage and stock control.
COURSE OUTCOME:
On completion of the course, participants will:
• Understand personal responsibility to food safety by learning aspects of:
a. Food hazards;
b. Personal hygiene;
c. Temperature control;
d. Pest control;
e. Legal responsibilities of food handlers & business operators;
• Learn how to implement CIEH practices by:
a. Identifying signs of food spoilage;
b. Controlling contamination in food premises; &
c. Keeping food handlers and work areas clean and hygienic 
• Following a food safety management system based on HACCP principles
