• Describe the role of BLO

• Maintain a state of readiness for boat landing

• Carry out landing deck inspection

• Prepare for boat arrival – know ETA from control / administration room

• Embarkation and disembarkation of passengers

• Loading and unloading hand baggage and freight

• Supervise boat arrival and departure

• Supervise of loading and unloading passengers, baggage and freight

• Manage Man Overboard
